Like so many of our 2020 couples – they started with plan A for their wedding and it soon became plan B and then plan C and so on until they finally settled on their final plan for Oct 17th. We were originally providing barn lighting for their wedding. In the end, we handled their live streaming, ceremony microphones and tent bistro string lighting for their late October fall foliage Zoom wedding. We even setup and ran sound for their acoustic guitarist – Jeffrey Foucault.
When we did our site visit, we found that there was no wifi/internet access onsite and cell service was spotty. We were able to use our phone as a hotspot to live stream their wedding. We would normally recommend at least 20 Mbps download and 6 Mbps upload speeds. We had less than 1 Mbps up and down that day. Low internet speeds can be a huge challenge if you are trying to live stream your wedding in the Berkshires. It’s always best to use a high-speed wired connection if possible (or 5G hotspot if you have coverage).
We made it through the low internet speeds and 30 mph wind gusts during the ceremony setup and it ended up being a wonderful fall day when guests transitioned into the tent for dinner and toasts. Oh, and don’t get me started about the wind gust that took our 50″ monitor and smashed it. Thankfully, we always strive to have backup and their wedding went on uninterrupted.
