Custom Lighting For Your Tented Wedding
Carolyn & Patrick reached out to us early in their planning process with a photo from Instagram. We took that inspiration image and worked for nearly a year on their custom light accents for their tented wedding. I headed to Home Depot to grab some metal strips and wood and created a quick prototype to see if the structure would be light enough to hang in their tent and to see what the light would look like as it came through the wood slats on this fixture.
Then, I headed to my metal fabricator with sketches, and Charles and I created a plan on how he was going to create the metal framework for these fixtures and how we’d arrange the hanging points. Fast forward a few months and I had the metal frames in hand and I headed back to my workshop to install the wood slats and wire them up with Edison Bulbs. All along this journey, I’d send Carolyn a quick photo of what I was working on and the progress we were making.
When we arrived the week of their wedding to hang them and wire everything up, it was clear that we had caught a little magic with these fixtures but it wasn’t until wedding night as the sun set that you could see the unique shadows and patterns that they created across the tent canvas. All I can say is WOW. We can’t wait to see the professional images from their photographer, but in the meantime – here are a few images that my light technician & their wedding planner took that night
