Let me tell you how fun Cole and Brittany were to work with! Our first meeting starts and they say “Pat, before we talk about anything else you need to know that we LOVE to. dance and we want as much time on the dancefloor as possible”. When a couple makes that kind of statement it lets me know we are in for a guaranteed, certified, high-energy dance party!
Cole and I went to high school together in Lebanon, CT and we both sang in choir and even an acapella group for a project he was putting together! When he and Brittany reached out looking for a DJ for their wedding I knew we were in for a great time. As a DJ it’s a lot of fun working with all the couples we get to every year, but there’s something special about when you hear from someone you know well that they want you to be the DJ for one of the most important days of their lives.
So let’s talk about the wedding vibes! It was an overcast but, beautiful day in RI at Sheperd’s Run in South Kingstown, RI. Their ceremony took place in the Great Hall guests took their seats to the music stylings of an acoustic trio comprised of Cole’s dad and Brother on Mandolins and his good friend Hannah (All common friends of ours from High School), under a canopy of twinkle lights. After the ceremony, everyone headed into the winery and tasting area for cocktail hour while we and the Shepard’s run crew moved equipment into place and flipped the room to be ready for the reception. Once everyone was settled we brought Cole and Brittany in who crushed their entrance and choreographed first dance.
After some dinner and cocktails, they stormed the dance floor with just about all of their guests and stayed dancing for over 2 hours! They danced to some wedding classics and a whole bunch of early 2000s hits. They ended their party with Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” and after lots of sweaty hugs headed on to the afterparty.
