Cloud Nine Catering runs The Lace Factory. Rob Alberti’s was there for their grand opening party with our DJ, Lighting and we have done so many Lace Factory Weddings over the past few years. It is a very unique industrial-style facility for your Connecticut Wedding.
The exposed brick and large high industrial-style windows and metal beams is not for every couple, but if it is your style – you should check it out.
The Lace Factory is right across the road from the Essex Steam Train and many wedding guests arrive via the train adding to your wedding experience. A part of Deep River Landing, with a long history at the edge of the Connecticut River – The Lace Factory started hosting weddings back in 2011.
It’s a big cavernous space and we highly recommend that your dance floor be IN THE CENTER of the room with tables on either side. Placing all the tables at the far end of the room makes for difficult acoustics.
There are built-in string lights on all the exposed metal beams and they can be a bit bright when it comes to dancing time. Be sure to ask to have them SHUT OFF once dinner is done if you want to promote a busier dance floor (everyone hesitates to dance when it’s too bright in a room – it’s human nature). We have done many weddings where our clients had wanted to introduce color into the venue and with our up-lighting, we can do just that.
It takes a lot more than a typical set of 16 up lights to cover The Lace Factory in Deep River, but with a skilled lighting designer, you will get the right look and feel for your Lace Factory Wedding. We also have texture pattern lighting that would work well in that space to create unique patterns and shadows throughout the space. Adding drapery to soften the space and lighting to highlight features is a great way to take this large industrial space and make it just right for your wedding reception in CT.
