Kelley and Sam were so much fun to work with! When we first met, they told me that their ceremony and reception would be at an old sheep farm and that they were having a traditional Quaker ceremony. We have to work on planning the timing out perfectly. Quaker ceremonies are a bit different than many other types of wedding ceremonies I’ve done in the past. There is no officiant and the ceremony is guided by folks in the community being moved to speak. The couple initiates their vows and ring exchange before sitting quietly to receive words of kindness, advice, and well wishes from the community.
After we concluded the ceremony guests all lined up to sign the marriage certificate before heading to cocktail hour. We then got everyone into the tent for speeches, dinner, and dancing! This group danced the night away to hits from across the decades before heading to the bonfire after-party on the property!
