The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station located at 55 Bridge Road in Haddam CT is a wonderful location for your CT Shoreline wedding. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but worth the trip (I don’t have much for cell service, but I’m on Sprint). It has a couple of beautiful outdoor areas (wrap around porch off the back and a large patio on the side) and don’t forget the grand staircase inside that leads to a large indoor social hour area.
The high arching ceiling lines of The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station is what get’s most people’s attention. They especially look amazing with our added up-lighting for your Connecticut Wedding. We’ve projected texture patterns on the ceiling for some added character and your wedding photos at The Riverhouse will look so much better with our added lighting. (Just ask your wedding photographer) With all the windows in The Riverhouse, you will want to make sure your wedding lighting professional has top of the line gear to properly light this large wedding venue. Our LED fixtures are high output fixtures with 15,000 – 30,000 LUX @ 1m to get your up-lighting color ALL THE WAY TO THE CEILING – even in broad daylight. Yes, we can light the Riverhouse even if your wedding is during the day.
Don’t forget the outside of The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station – we can light the front entrance, side patio to extend your wedding color scheme to the outside for some amazing night wedding photos with your photographer.
The Riverhouse is a BIG ROOM so be sure that your DJ has ample sound and spreads out speakers using wireless remotes to help with the acoustics in the room. Depending on what areas you are using – we’ve done as many as 3 wireless speakers (outdoor porch, front lobby and across the room from where they have the DJ setup) to properly get sound everywhere that is needed.
We’ve been DJing weddings at The Riverhouse in Haddam Connecticut since it first started. It has always been one of our favorite wedding venues visually in CT.
You will want to hear your wedding DJ do introductions and make announcements before you hire anyone. Not every DJ can be an eloquent master of ceremony at your wedding. Playing music off an Itunes playlist or Spotify won’t do either. You will want non-stop seamless music mixing. You can hear our wedding DJs make announcements and some of our music mixes below.
