When I talked with Shireen about her vision for her wedding day she shared that she loved Noah Kahan right off the bat, that she and Jack loved folky-acoustic, and that they had a pretty wide array of music they wanted for dancing. Getting a response like that is one of the best things I can hear as a DJ! We worked together to craft the perfect soundtrack for their day using some of the folk/acoustic music for cocktails, ramping the energy up with some newer pop hits for dinner, and hitting the dancefloor with classics and new jams alike.
Most of Shireen’s family had traveled from Italy for the wedding so we even snuck in some Italian hits throughout the night! With rain on the horizon, we made the decision to do the ceremony inside, bring guests down to the tent for dinner with toasts, and then bring everybody back upstairs for dancing.
We kicked off the dancing portion of our evening with our parent dances. Jack danced with his mom to “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac and Shireen and her dad kicked off the dancefloor with Uptown funk after faking a slow dance! The guests got a kick out of it and hit the dancefloor for the rest of the night! We played a little bit of just about everything from Disco to the 2000s, to the 90s, and hits from today. When the night wrapped up, guests headed to the afterparty on the shuttle to keep the party going.
