Spotify Playlist Wedding Song Suggestions For Parent Dances: Probably one of the most agonized decisions in planning your wedding can be finding just the right song to dance with your Father or Mother at your wedding reception. Maybe it’s too sappy and you are afraid you are going to break down and cry? Maybe the lyrics just don’t match your relationship with your father. What do you do?
First – try not to agonize and psycho-analyze your wedding decisions so much. Your wedding guests are not going to worry about lyric content or whether you and your father are good dancers together. It’s all about that emotional moment of the two of you together on the dance floor. It’s most likely that you will cry (and dad probably will too). As your DJ (and a father), even I tear up when I see one of our brides on the dance floor with her dad.
Maybe you and your father used to listen to Tom Petty when you were a kid or there is a song from your favorite Disney movie that reminds you of him? Finding an emotional tie is key to picking the right parent dance song for your wedding. If you are tired of making decisions for your wedding – ask your father or mother to pick a song for you. Inviting your parents into simple wedding decisions helps them feel involved and can take some pressure off the two of you.
For our grooms – if you just don’t know (or care) about the song you dance with your mom to – just ask your mother to pick the song for you. It is after all – her moment with her son. Let her make that emotional decision for you. She will love you for the opportunity.
