Sydney & Joe – Gedney Farm Wedding

There is one thing that a wedding DJ loves – it’s a large guest count. With Sydney and Joe, we had more than 200 guests at Gedney Farm (both levels of the barn packed with tables). This is a great party just waiting to happen! Their ceremony was outside in the courtyard (the hillside was just a bit too muddy to have guests head out there). Cocktail hour was inside and outside, and we played music in both spaces.

There was some confusion between catering, the manager, and the couple as to when toasts were going to be staged, but Dad came up and insisted we do them before the entre (which is always when we suggest they get done – never do toasts after dinner – that is dancing time!) We had 9 toasts and a welcome speech to get through! When it was all said and done, we were able to get in a 20-minute dance set before dinner and nearly 4.5 hours of dancing after dinner. When midnight rolled around, we ended the night off with Take Me Home Country Roads by John Denver.

On their no-play list was Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Line Dances
