The Riverview CT Wedding Photos: We have done many weddings over the years at The Riverview in Simsbury CT. We’ve provided DJs for so many couples as well as our custom lighting and photo booth rentals at The Riverview (and its sister facility – The Waterview in Monroe, CT) We’ve been performing at The Riverview since it opened back in 2008.
They have two large ballrooms (that can be combined for really large events). We’ve done corporate and even proms in the fully open ballrooms at The Riverview and Waterview. They both have dramatic arched architecture lines and grand columns throughout. It makes for a perfect wedding venue for our LED uplighting. Yes – they have some poorly placed built-in lighting in the venue, but they are illuminating the windows (and not the columns – makes no sense!) We typically uplight the columns throughout the venue. We’ve also projected texture patterns on the airwall separating the two ballrooms with our theatrical lighting. We can even provide pin spots for your table centerpieces or cake table With uplighting, we can dial in virtually any color you wish to add to your wedding decor. Our LED fixtures can blend RGBAW+UV for millions of colors. We can even wireless control the room to set scenes such as Amber for cocktail hour, Light Blue for dinner, Red for your entrance and can even have the lights change based on the music later to add to the energy on your dance floor.

The Riverview has a unique acoustic challenge. The room with high arched ceiling and a very long and narrow dance floor. It’s a beautiful venue for your wedding, but your DJ needs to know how to handle it acoustically. The typical average DJ setup of two speakers on stands on either side of their DJ table just won’t work in this echo chamber of a room. We run a series of speakers along the long wall to reduce that echo effect. Using speakers angled downward or what we call near-field speakers will also help with the acoustic challenge of both The Riverview and The Waterview’s venue space.
If your wedding DJ doesn’t know acoustics – you can all but guarantee that your guests won’t hear anything spoken over the microphone including your best man’s toast due to the echo caused by the arched ceiling lines.

The Riverview has a beautiful outdoor space (for both ballrooms) for your outdoor wedding ceremony. We can provide a separate ceremony sound system so that everyone hears the emotion as you exchange vows. Not only will we have a microphone for your wedding officiate, but we also provide a clip-on lav mic for you (because how else can Aunt Judy in the 4th row hear you?) We even have a 3rd microphone for any readers during your ceremony. Most average wedding DJs think they can provide ceremony support with a speaker, a single microphone, and an iPad. That’s not how we do things properly. We have multiple sound playback devices, multiple microphones, and a professional sound mixer to ensure that your ceremony is heard by all your friends and family.

Simsbury CT The Riverview Catering – Wedding Mashup Dance
Our photo booth rentals are always a big hit at our Riverview weddings. It’s typically set up over near the bar (so you get lots of traffic by it between the bar and bathrooms). Our booth allows your guests to instantly share their images to their phones (and social media). With our touch-screen – they simply enter their phone number and their photos are sent directly to them. We’ll also print out 2×6 or 4×6 prints of their photos instantly for them to enjoy. Unlike other photo booth rental companies – we will print as many copies as guests that are in the photo – so if 8 people are in the shot, we’ll print 8 hardcopies PLUS an additional one to be given to you at the end of your wedding. We’ll give them to you at the end along with a USB flash drive with all the digital images. We’ll also send you a link to the online gallery to share with friends and family so they can grab all the digital images that they wish. Want your guests to get dressed up? No problem – we supply a trunkload (not 8-12 props on a table) of props so everyone can find something that resonates with their personalities for their photos.
