The Society Room of Hartford Wedding Photos: We have done many weddings over the years downtown Hartford at The Society Room since it first opened. You see, the Society Room of Hartford used to be a bank and it still has the original vault that makes for a unique photo opportunity for you and your wedding photographer. We’ve even used the vault as a backdrop for our photo booth. The Society Room’s sweeping staircase and balcony area make for a grand entrance for your wedding. This is an amazing upscale backdrop for your wedding that just can’t be matched in the CT area. When you think of classic elegant – The Society Room of Hartford is one of the first wedding venues that comes to mind and is one of our favorite venues to light with such dramatic architecture to highlight with our uplighting.
We’ve projected patterns on the walls, lit the venue in broad daylight, and projected our couple’s names and monograms on the dance floor or over their wedding cake.

We have set up our DJ gear in many locations depending on the guest table layouts, but the most typical space that we are asked to set up in is at the corner of the bar. Yes, it’s a bit awkward and cramped, but this seems to be the place The Society Room suggests. We’d prefer to be set up along the inner round wall so we are not so in the way of the bar, but table capacity seems to be a concern.
When you get more than about 130 guests, some tables need to be placed on the balcony level – I actually love this – simply place your younger guests upstairs for dinner (with their own private bar upstairs). It makes for a great view and your younger guests are more capable of moving up and down the staircases to come down and dance when the time comes.

“Can’t recommend Rob and his team more!! We contacted Rob less then 3 months before our wedding after we moved it due to Covid. He got back to us same day with options! When you’ve gone through ti all responsiveness is a MUST. I loved that his website goes into so much detail and what to expect. We had a quick call and was completely sold. Rob and his team come the day before and string bistro lights to make our tent reallllllly glow but also help my florist ring a flower chandelier over the dance floor. He was so accommodating and easy to work with. We used DJ Jesse Camp and all our guests could say was how unbelievable he was. We ended up adding an extra hour because we couldn’t stop dancing! Even more then the reception, they have everything you need for your ceremony as well with battery powered speakers so no crazy extension cords needed! They thought of everything for us and i had surprise music i wanted to play and Jesse made it look seamless. The Society Room of Hartford Wedding Photos
If you are having your ceremony onsite, The Society Room will reset the main level ballroom from ceremony seating to dinner during your cocktail hour. It’s a smooth process and gives you the opportunity to spend more time in downtown Hartford without having to move your wedding guests from one location to another.
We can provide a separate ceremony sound system so that everyone hears the emotion as you exchange vows. Not only will we have a microphone for your wedding officiate, but we also provide a clip-on lav mic for you (because how else can Aunt Judy in the 4th row hear you?) We even have a 3rd microphone for any readers during your ceremony. Most average wedding DJs think they can provide ceremony support with a speaker, a single microphone, and an iPad. That’s not how we do things properly. We have multiple sound playback devices, multiple microphones, and a professional sound mixer to ensure that your ceremony is heard by all your friends and family.

He runs his business as a total professional; highly responsive, very organized and generally on top of all the details. Rob came himself for the site visit to check out the space and requirements. He also put us in touch with DJ Jim who absolutely ran the night. We had a couple zoom calls leading up to prepare our playlists and several emails to make sure all the details were accounted for. And it was absolutely perfect. The lighting was gorgeous, we had bistro lighting in our tent and path lighting. We had sound at the ceremony and separate system in the tent for dancing. Our photo booth rentals are always a big hit at our Society Room weddings. It’s typically set up in the front foyer near the outer bar or we can use the original bank vault as a backdrop for a truly unique photobooth experience. Our booth allows your guests to instantly share their images to their phones (and social media). With our touch-screen – they simply enter their phone number and their photos are sent directly to them. We’ll also print out 2×6 or 4×6 prints of their photos instantly for them to enjoy. Unlike other photo booth rental companies – we will print as many copies as guests that are in the photo – so if 8 people are in the shot, we’ll print 8 hardcopies PLUS an additional one to be given to you at the end of your wedding. We’ll give them to you at the end along with a USB flash drive with all the digital images. We’ll also send you a link to the online gallery to share with friends and family so they can grab all the digital images that they wish. Want your guests to get dressed up? No problem – we supply a trunkload (not 8-12 props on a table) of props so everyone can find something that resonates with their personalities for their photos.
