The Marquee in Hartford Connecticut is sometimes called the G Fox or Gershon Fox Ballroom. Located at 960 Main Street in downtown Hartford, CT is one of our favorite wedding venues in Hartford. With it’s elegant art deco decor and refined Old Hollywood ambiance, it makes an amazing background for your Connecticut wedding reception.
We have DJ’d many weddings over the years here at The Marquee. Our wedding disc jockeys know how to handle the event flow at The Marquee with ceremonies in the Atrium, cocktail music in the Mezzanine through their house system, and main DJ system in the G Fox Ballroom.
Some of our wedding clients have their cocktails upstairs on the Mezzanine level, dinner, and dancing in the ballroom. Others, due to size eat in the ballroom and then do dancing out in the Atrium area. We’ve strung bistro string lights down the entrance hallway and over the atrium area. We’ve even hung crystal chandeliers in the atrium area.
Their pipe and drape will make a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony and we can light that drape line with our uplighting to create just the right mood for your ceremony. Whatever your flow of events – we will make sure to cover each separate area with sound for a seamless wedding reception.

Did I mention our custom wedding lighting options? We’ve used our architectural up-lighting in the Marquee’s Atrium, string lighting in the entrance hallway and more LED uplighting in the G. Fox Ballroom.

The G. Fox building has a personal connection for me. My parents used to come to this historic department store when they were younger and living in the Hartford/Windsor area. They would tell me tales of spending hours at the G. Fox building in downtown Hartford. Each of the 11 floors was a different department (Women’s dresses, Men’s suits, etc.) and my mother reflects on their customer service as one of those happy moments in her past.
The historic nature of the Marquee is evident as soon as you step through the main entrance at 960 Main Street in Hartford Connecticut. Your guests will feel it and your wedding photos will be just amazing here at The Gershon Fox Ballroom with one of our wedding DJs and our wedding lighting design.
